New Delhi, Oct 27 (ANI): Chief of Indian Army, General Dalbir Singh Suhag, and senior serving officers laid wreaths at the Amar Jawan Jyoti on Monday (October 27) in New Delhi on the occasion of Infantry Day. Infantry Day, which is observed on October 27 every year, marks the landing of the first paramilitary battalion at Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir to guard the valley from the attack and invasion of the Pakistan army. The Indian troops first arrived in Srinagar, the summer capital of the state on October 27, 1947.
