New Delhi, Oct 27 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Dilma Rousseff on her re-election as the President of Brazil for the second term. "Congratulations to Dilma on her re-election as the President of Brazil! My best wishes to her for the 2nd term," Prime Minister Modi tweeted. "I look forward to continuing to work with Dilma to strengthen India-Brazil relations in the years to come", he added. Dilma Vana Rousseff, the 36th President of Brazil, got re-elected for the position after securing more than 51% of votes.

Indian Army pays tribute to fallen bravehearts on Infantry Day

New Delhi, Oct 27 (ANI): Chief of Indian Army, General Dalbir Singh Suhag, and senior serving officers laid wreaths at the Amar Jawan Jyoti on Monday (October 27) in New Delhi on the occasion of Infantry Day. Infantry Day, which is observed on October 27 every year, marks the landing of the first paramilitary battalion at Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir to guard the valley from the attack and invasion of the Pakistan army. The Indian troops first arrived in Srinagar, the summer capital of the state on October 27, 1947.

Ajit Doval examines Burdwan blast site

Burdwan/ New Delhi, Oct 27 (ANI): National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Monday examined the site of Burdwan blast which took place on October 2 in West Bengal. Doval, is scheduled to hold a meeting with state chief secretary Sanjay Mitra, home secretary Basudeb Banerjee and the CM Mamata Banerjee in the state secretariat. He personally inspected houses used by the terror modules including the one where the accidental blast took place. Meanwhile political leaders demanded quick probe into the blast.

Situation under control in Trilokpuri, people are being questioned: BS Bassi

New Delhi, Oct 27 (ANI): Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi on Monday said that the situation in Trilokpuri is under control and investigation is going on in the matter. He added that Section 144 will be there in the area as along as it is needed. He further said that the police have identified the people who were spreading rumors and creating communal tensions and they will be punished as per the law. A communal riot had broken out in East Delhi's Trilokpuri locality after four people were shot during a clash between two communities. Curfew was imposed in the area and 33 people were arrested by the police.

Kashmir observes complete shutdown protesting 67 years of Indian troops in state

Srinagar, Oct 27 (ANI): Separatist party in Kashmir, Hurriyat Conference called for a complete shutdown in the state on Monday (October 27) in protest of Indian troops landing on Kashmir soil 67 years ago. The Hurriyat Conference also demanded for complete demilitarisation of the state. All shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads in the capital city of Srinagar. Banks, educational institutions and government offices also remained closed. Most of the streets wore a deserted look in Srinagar. The shutdown is based on the struggle faced by Kashmiris since the arrival of Indian troops, according to Hurriyat Conference.

Politicians react to heckling of Pakistan's Bilawal Bhutto during his protest over Kashmir in London

New Delhi/Mumbai, Oct 27 (ANI): In the aftermath of Pakistan's Bilawal Bhutto being heckled and jeered during a protest over Kashmir in London, Indian politicians said on Monday (October 27) that Pakistan was needlessly trying to internationalize the Kashmir issue and they hoped that the neighbouring country had learnt a lesson. Bilawal Bhutto, the 26-year-old chairperson of the Pakistan Peoples Party or PPP and the scion of the leading Bhutto dynasty in Pakistan was heckled and jeered during the "Million March", a protest that went through the streets of London, calling for independence of Kashmir, on Sunday. The rally was led by Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, former prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and PPP leader, who wanted to raise the issue of an independent Kashmir in the British Parliament.

Reactions pour in after Centre reveal names of three black money account holders to Supreme Court

New Delhi/ Chennai, Oct 27 (ANI): Reactions poured in after Centre on Monday revealed the names of three bank account holders in the black money case to the Supreme Court. BJP leader Sambit Patra said that it is a historic day and the government has started the process of disclosure of names. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that the investigations should start against the three names disclosed by the Centre. CPI leader Atul Anjan said that the SC wont be satisfied with the three names the Centre has revealed and the government should reveal the names of all those who are account holders in Swiss bank. DMK leader TKS Elangovan also expressed similar sentiments.

Sri Lankan Navy Chief receives Guard of Honour

New Delhi, Oct 27 (ANI): The Navy Chief of Sri Lanka Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera on Monday received the Guard of Honour at South Block in New Delhi. Perera also met Indian Navy Chief Admiral RK Dhowan. On being asked about Chinese submarines docked in Sri Lanka, Perera said that all investors are purely on commercial basis and there is no chance of staking security of any other country, especially India. Antiques worth millions stolen from museum in Gujarat

Vadodara, Oct 27 (ANI): Burglars stole two 100-year-old revolvers and a sword sheathe from Baroda Museum and Picture Gallery in Gujarat. The famous museum in Vadodara city was built in 1894 by King Sayaji Rao Gaekwad. It preserves a rich collection of art, sculpture, ethnography and ethnology of international value worth millions. Despite under heavy security blanket, the robbers managed to steal items. This has raised a question on security and police say it will investigate the matter. Curator of the museum, Vijay Patel, said he received the news in the morning. The police rushed to the spot with dog squads and forensic department after receiving the information.

New Delhi/ Mumbai, Oct 27 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Monday as Centre will be submitting fresh affidavit in Supreme Court on black money. According to the reports, the Central government will also disclose the names of three black money account holders to the Supreme Court. Reacting on the black money issue, BJP leader Nalin Kohli said the government's action shows that they are serious about black money unlike the UPA government.
