Prakash Javadekar urges to disseminate information on climate change

New Delhi, Oct 27 (ANI): Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar, on Monday (October 27), said that people of the country should be informed about climate change as they were good in acclimatizing with the weather. While addressing a workshop on 'scaling-up good practices for climate change adaptation' in New Delhi, Javadekar said that another term was being added to the minister, 'climate change' and the country was serious about the matter. West Bengal: One dead, four injured in TMC-BJP clash

Birbhum, Oct 27 (ANI): In a clash between the BJP and TMC workers, one person is reportedly killed and 4 injured in Birbhum district of West Bengal on Monday. Out of the four injured who sustained bullet injuries, the condition of two is reportedly critical. The Rapid Action Force (RAF) has been deployed in the Makra village, where the violence took place. Many villagers have also reportedly fled the area. The violence comes days after assailants hurled bombs at three policemen, including the officer-in-charge of a West Bengal police station, in Birbhum last week. The bombs were thrown at the police when they had gone to Chakmondola village to inquire about bombs being illegally manufactured there.

Chandigarh, Oct 27 (ANI): Newly sworn-in Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar, on Monday (October 27), chaired his first cabinet meeting and said all plans and agendas of previous government led by Congress party will be reviewed. Khattar, 60, who is a former member of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), took oath as the 10th state chief of Haryana on October 26, after the BJP won the state polls with a clear mandate last week. BJP won 47 of 90 seats in Haryana. During a news briefing in Chandigarh, Khattar said that policies beneficial for people will only be continued. Venkaiah Naidu inaugurates water ATM in New Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 27 (ANI): Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu on Monday inaugurated a water ATM (Automated Teller Machine) in New Delhi under the Sarvajal (water for all) scheme to provide potable drinking water at a nominal price. Sarvajal scheme, launched by Delhi Jal (Water) Board (DJB), seeks to provide affordable access to potable water in parched areas through water ATMs. A water ATM is a decentralized water treatment plant that extracts the ground water which then is purified through reverse osmosis system and provided to people. Naidu said that the government hoped to install more such water ATMs across the capital city.
