He further added that Nitin Gadkari himself has denied it and calls the news baseless. The statement was followed by even louder protests from the opposition benches. New Delhi, July 30 (ANI): Politicos on Wednesday stated that the Modi government should think in the interest of the farmers and not the foreign firms that would be benefitting from the adaption of the GM crops. Earlier on Tuesday, Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar had said that the field trial of 15 genetically modified (GM) crops approved recently by the Genetic Engineering Approval Committee (GEAC) is just a recommendation and no decision has been taken yet on the contentious issue.
