Diwali Milan function: PM Modi to meet media persons at Delhi BJP headquarters

New Delhi, Oct 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who spent this Diwali with the soldiers of Siachen Glacier, will be meeting the media persons on Saturday, at a Diwali Milan function at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters. The function that is the first of its kind where Prime Minister Modi will meet journalists after assuming the office will be attended by the party president Amit Shah along with other senior leaders. Noida, Oct 25 (ANI): Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that India wants peace with China but not at the cost of its honour while referring to the border dispute. Singh said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had conveyed to China's President Xi Jinping that New Delhi wanted to resolve the border issues peacefully. Singh also asked Pakistan to stop shelling along the Kashmir border and create an environment for resumption of dialogue with New Delhi. Villagers attack policemen in Birbhum

Birbhum/ Kolkata, Oct 25 (ANI): Villagers in Birbhum district of West Bengal attacked policemen and their vehicle on Friday, while state administration alleges that the attack was politically motivated. The assailants who attacked the police were armed with crude bombs, batons and other arms. The police reportedly fired few rounds in air to disperse the attacking mob. Regional Trinamool Congress Party leader Anubrata Mondal had earlier alleged that the state BJP workers were behind the attack on the police in Birbhum. However, denying his earlier statement, Mondal said it was wrong to point guns at anybody without any proof. Oct 25, 2014

Nagas send out a message of peace and unity in capital

New Delhi, Oct 25 (ANI): It was a jam-packed session at Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru stadium when thousands of people from different Naga tribes living in the capital city came together for the 'NSUD Nite 2014'- the 51st edition of the annual night cum fresher's meet of the Naga Students Union, Delhi. The annual event aims at fostering unity among the Nagas; besides promoting their cultural legacy. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju addressed the event as the Chief Guest and called for unity among the northeastern people at large.
