Security experts say convergence with US on extradition of Tahawwur Hussain Rana unlikely

New Delhi, Dec 28 (ANI): Security experts on Sunday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would have to find a way to demand extradition of Tahawwur Hussain Rana from the US during President Barack Obama’s visit for Republic Day celebrations. Rana was arrested in Chicago by the FBI on October 18, 2009 for plotting an attack on Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, which ran cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad in 2005, US authorities said in court documents. Security Expert Uday Bhaskar said that it was difficult to expect a convergence between Washington and New Delhi on militancy in relation to Pakistan. Another Security Expert Kamal Mitra Chenoy said Modi would have to find a polite way to convey the demand. Dec 28, 2014

Protest continues against Aamir Khan's 'PK'

New Delhi/ Mumbai, Dec 28 (ANI): Vishwa Hindu Parishad workers on Sunday protested against Aamir Khan's recently released 'PK' in Mumbai. The protesters alleged that Khan had hurt religious sentiments of Hindu community and demanded ban on the movie. Reactions pour in after IIT-Delhi Director resigns alleging pressure from the government

New Delhi, Dec 28 (ANI): Reactions poured in on Sunday after Director of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IITD) Raghunath K. Shevgaonkar resigned two years before the completion of his term. According to the media reports, the resignation came due to tremendous pressure from the ministry, which wanted to lend IIT ground to cricketer Sachin Tendulkar for opening a cricket academy. IIT Alumni Association Secretary CK Jain said that it is very unfortunate that government is trying to take IIT under it. IIT Alumni Association former President Subodh Jindal requested the government to take the director’s resignation back. Reactions flow as govt asks Pak to hand over Dawood Ibrahim to India

New Delhi, Dec 28 (ANI): Political leaders and experts reacted on Sunday after Indian government asked the Pakistan government to hand over Dawood Ibrahim to India as he is the main accused in various terrorist attacks executed in India.
