Bangalore, June 12 (ANI): As the first flight of the AirAsia India, the first airline with foreign investment in India, is set to start flights on Thursday, CEO Mittu Chandilya said that they are not focused on market shares but the priority is to keep the fares low. Chandilya said that the AirAsia chose only certain cities for operation going by their belief on the cities. Further, he also said that unlike other low-cost airlines, AirAsia is not using old aircrafts and have given good attention to the food on-board. Jun 12, 2014

India, France hold joint air exercise in Rajasthan

Jodhpur, June 03 (ANI): India, France held joint air exercises in Rajasthan to strengthen ties and understand operational methods. Both the nations commenced the ten-day air exercise, Garuda V, at Jodhpur's air base. The exercise aims to expose Indian Air Force (IAF) pilots to French fighter and combat tactics and vice-versa. During this fortnight long exercise, both the Air Forces would engage in operations based on their Operational Philosophy and methodology of operations practicing various challenging air situation scenarios. India's defense spokesperson, Colonel SD Goswami, said this exercise would help in strengthening combat relations between the two countries. A team of four KC-135 aircrafts, Rafale fighter jets and mid-air refuellers are to be involved in the joint exercise with the Indian Air Force. Jun 3, 2014

Tamil Nadu, May 2 (ANI): Enthusiasts thronged Coimbatore city in Tamil Nadu on April 26 for 'Aeroplus 2014', which exhibited more than 20 varieties of aircrafts, choppers and their manoeuvre. The exhibition is being organised by Nehru College of Aeronautical Science and will continue for three days. Most of the aircrafts that were on display have been brought from Indian Air Force and other foreign countries.The visitors were mostly attracted to miniature helicopter, which was designed by an aeronautical student. One of the distinct characteristics of this miniature chopper was it cannot be detected by radar which can be greatly useful for the armed forces.Some of the aircrafts that were on display included Hawker 1A, Beech aircraft, King Air C-90 aircraft, Cessna 150D, a rare Enstrom F-28 helicopter, etc. Inside the exhibition halls, visitors also got the chance to witness an international airport which was prepared in the form of a big model. There were runways, terminals, security points, radar, repair yard, flying club, parking area arranged along with the aircrafts. Engine models were also put on display including MIG-21 fighter plane engine. Aircraft accessories, aviation photo gallery and cockpit instruments were also set up in this novel exhibition.
