All party meet for upcoming winter session of Parliament ends, leaders put forward varied issues par

New Delhi, Nov 23 (ANI): All party meet to discuss agenda for Parliament's Winter Session which will begin from Monday ended and different political parties put forward varied issues to be taken during the session. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that BJP and Shiv Sena has same views and outlook on the Kashmir issue. JD (U) General Secretary KC Tyagi also discussed various issues which the party is looking forward to discuss at the winter session. Congress’ Mallikarjun Kharge said that party wants that bills that are still pending need to be kept on the table again including women reservation bill. Meanwhile, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu said that government is more than willing to work on the suggestions of the opposition parties. Showing confidence on smooth functioning of the Parliament session, Naidu said that all parties should cooperate including Mamata Banerjee’s TMC. West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi given additional charge of Bihar

New Delhi, Nov 23 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday appointed West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi to discharge the functions of Governor of Bihar in addition to his own duties. "The President of India has been pleased to appoint Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi, Governor of West Bengal, to discharge the functions of the Governor of Bihar, in addition to his own duties, until regular arrangements for the office of the Governor of Bihar is made," said a press communique issued by the President's Secretariat. Huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered in J and K

Baramulla, Nov 23 (ANI): Army personnel on Sunday recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from a militant hideout in forest area in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to Major MK Chaitanya, the security personnel had been receiving inputs for the past two and a half months about the movement of militants in woods in the district. On Sunday, after receiving a specific input, with the assistance of Special Operations Group (SOG), an elite anti-insurgency force of Jammu and Kashmir Police, the weapons were seized. Catholics in New Delhi carry out procession to mark feast of 'Christ the King'

New Delhi, Nov 23 (ANI): Catholics from across New Delhi and the neighbouring areas took out a peaceful procession on Sunday to celebrate the feast of 'Christ the King'. The celebration which marks the end of the liturgical year is an annual event and this year it concentrated on burning issues of the country. Father Stanley Kozhichira, former Media Director of Archdiocese of Delhi, said this year the Archdiocese of Delhi is emphasising on issues like violence against women and racism against people of northeastern states. The procession saw hundreds of devotees taking part in it while small children showered flowers and everyone sang devotional songs. Two Catholics from Kerala declared saints in Vatican

Thrissur, Nov 23 (ANI): Masses came out on streets of Kerala on Sunday after a Carmelite priest, Chavara Elias Kuriakose, and a Carmelite nun, Euphrasia Eluvathingal, from the state were declared as saints in Saint Peter's Square in Vatican City by Pope Francis. The news has elated the Christian community in Kerala as it is for the first time that two Indians are declared as saints on the same day. People from far flung areas are rushing to a chapel in a small village of Ollur, the burial place of Euphrasia, near Thrissur district to have a glimpse of her. Scores of Indian priests, nuns and devotees thronged Vatican to witness the canonisation function. Madhuri Dixit, UNICEF brand ambassador, dedicates Literature Carnival in Lucknow to Child Rights

Lucknow, Nov 23 (ANI): With UNICEF celebrating 25 years of its Convention on the Rights of the Child, brand ambassador, Madhuri Dixit recently dedicated the Lucknow Literature Carnival to children in Lucknow. At an event, Dixit also addressed child sexual abuse, bullying, child labour, sanitation and health issues. The carnival, a three-day event, organized by Lucknow Expressions Society is scheduled to start from November 28 and will culminate on November 30.
