16 Maoists surrender in Chhattisgarh

Bastar, Nov 21 (ANI): Sixteen Maoists belonging to Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-M) surrendered in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. The 16 Maoists, including a woman, had a bounty of Rupees One Lakh on their heads. Inspector General (IG), Bastar, SRP Kalluri said that in the last five months there has been an increase in surrenders by the Maoists. During the ceremony, the Maoists were given monetary encouragement of Rupees 5,000. Kalluri also said that due to the increasing number of surrenders, the casualties had also come down. All the Maoists who surrendered alleged that they were subjected to exploitation and they lived under a constant threat. All of them agreed in unison that Maoism should be uprooted in Bastar. Police seize 785 kilograms of marijuana in Maharashtra

Chaklamba, Nov 21 (ANI): Police seized about 785 kilograms of marijuana in Maharashtra. The seizure took place in Chaklamba village in Beed district of Maharashtra. The police were informed about the marijuana by locals. They first sent a team to confirm the news and finally busted the operation. Investigating officer, Dilip Tejankar said that there were three farmers from the same family who were growing marijuana along with cotton crops. Tejankar added that the farmers kept the height of the marijuana crop to the same level as that of cotton to hide it. Nov 21, 2014

President Barack Obama promises to ease US immigration reform

Washington DC, Nov 21 (ANI): President Barack Obama promised to ease the threat of deportation for about 4.7 million illegal immigrants, testing the limits of his presidential powers and inviting a showdown with newly emboldened Republicans.The president also said he will use his executive authority to allow undocumented residents to legally apply for jobs and join American society, but without any guarantee of permanent residency or citizenship. US President Barack Obama urged people to come out of shadows and live lawfully. MoU claiming German as 3rd language should not be passed by central govt: Smriti Irani

New Delhi, Nov 21 (ANI): Talking about the controversy on German language in Kendriya Vidayalas, HRD Minister Smriti Irani said that there was a memorandum of understanding that was presenting German language as the third language in India. She said that any such MoU is against the Constitution of India and cannot be passed by the central government. Irani said that she rejected to sign on the MoU when it came for renewal. The HRD Minister also said that as far as students are concerned, teachers will be made available for them on choice of any Indian language but not on German language which is a foreign language. Jama Masjid's Syed Ahmed Bukhari welcomes Delhi HC's decision on son's anointment

The Delhi High Court, on Friday refused to stay the anointment ceremony of Bukhari's son, calling it a personal function. HC says dastarbandi has no legal sanction, rules out stay on anointment of Jama Masjid's Shahi Imam

New Delhi, Nov 21(ANI): Delhi High court on Friday said that dastarbandi has no legal sanction whatsoever and ruled out any stay on anointment of Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid. The court ruled that dastarbandi is a private function and as the family is living there since much time, they don't need to be removed now. However, the petitioner in the case said that there is nothing called hereditary in Islam for the position of imam and a person like him, who has criminal cases going on, should not be allowed to continue. The decision of the court is of interim nature and the High Court will keep the case under consideration. The court also questioned why the Waqf board has not taken any action on the issue.
