PM Modi meets Myanmar's Vice President Sai Mauk Kham to improve bilateral relations

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Vice President of Myanmar, Sai Mauk Kham met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday. Kham arrived in India on Monday on a five day visit to improve the bilateral relations between the two countries. Accompanying Kham on his visit is a high-level delegation of cabinet ministers and senior officials Through this visit, both the countries are aiming to improve physical connectivity and economic links. Reportedly India is keen on expanding its commercial footprint across Myanmar. Kham is scheduled to hold meetings with other top leaders of India including President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. PM Modi meets Russian defence minister to deepen bilateral cooperation

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu in New Delhi to deepen bilateral cooperation. Shoygu arrived in New Delhi for his three-day India visit to review the ongoing cooperation and future prospects in defence sector between the two countries. He is also scheduled to hold talks with his Indian counterpart Manohar Parrikar later in the day. Besides, the defence minister will also attend a session of Russian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission on Military and Technical Cooperation and visit the Russian-Indian joint venture BrahMos Aerospace Limited that makes supersonic cruise missiles. Muzaffarpur, Jan 21 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi visited a village in Muzaffarpur district on Wednesday and took stock of the situation after communal violence claimed three lives and charred several houses recently. The clash erupted in Azizpur village after a Muslim girl eloped with a Hindu boy from a neighboring village, Bahilwara Mali Tola. On Sunday, body of the boy, who was missing from the past ten days, was found from an agricultural field. After the body was recovered, angry mob rushed to Azizpur village and set houses on fire. Hanoi/ Japan, Jan 20 (ANI): In order to meet the rapid growth in electricity demand driven by a growing economy and expanding industrial base, Vietnam has decided to introduce nuclear energy. A developing country with a population of 92.5 million, Vietnam has selected Japan as its partner. The government issued a master plan specifying the project of building nuclear power plants, as the first time in Vietnam and South East Asia. Electric Power University (EPU) in Hanoi, is one of the six universities in Vietnam that are authorized to provide human resource training in nuclear power generation. The University has opened the Department of Nuclear Power in 2010 where students are learning basic knowledge required for nuclear power generation. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is one of the first partners which effectively cooperates and supports Electric Power University and provide nuclear engineering lecture.
