Theresa May hails Nissans investment as fantastic news for UK post-Brexit

Japanese carmaker Nissan has revealed plans to secure 7,000 jobs in Britain, after confirming it will build its new Qashqai model at its Sunderland plant. Prime Minister Theresa May called the decision a very important commitment but did not specifically comment on any sweeteners or deals the government has made with Nissan. Late in September, group chief executive Carlos Ghosn warned that the company would need compensation for any tax barriers that might follow in the wake of the UK leaving the European Union. April Fools’ Day: Nissan creates video playing on similar company names

Japanese car maker Nissan decided to have some fun with its brand name on April Fools’ Day, releasing a video in which its name gets mixed up with companies with similar names. In the video a Nissan staff member playing the role of a news anchor with an obviously fake moustache reports on a flying object created by Nissan and noodle maker Nissin that makes an unexpected landing at the headquarters of conglomerate Nissen.
