Chennai, Nov 19 (ANI): Indian grandmaster and defending champion, Viswanathan Anand was relieved as game seven against challenger Magnus Carlsen ended in a draw at World Chess Championship. Addressing a post-match conference, Anand said that he was unable to mount pressure on his opponent. Unperturbed by the draw, 22-year-old Carlsen said that he was still at an advantageous position as he retained his lead. The eighth match will be played on November 19.

Mumbai, Nov 16 (ANI): India crushed a hapless West Indies by an innings and 126 runs to complete a 2-0 whitewash in one of the most lopsided contests in recent history giving Sachin Tendulkar a perfect gift in his emotionally-charged farewell test. The test match lasted just about two and a half days. Amid standing ovations from his teammates as well as the fans who had thronged the Wankhede stadium to see the legendary cricketer for one last time, Tendulkar thanked his family, friends and fans for their immense support. Emotional fans across the country thanked the Little Master for his contribution to cricket.

Chennai, Nov 16 (ANI): Norway's Magnus Carlsen credited his opening moves for victory over India's Viswanathan Anand in a gruelling fifth game of the ongoing World Chess Championship in Chennai on Friday. The fifth game went on for over five and a half hours. Anand was playing with black pieces while Carlsen had white. Carlsen is ahead of Anand by 3-2. Just 22, Carlsen is considered the favourite after beating Anand in their last encounter in June. Anand, 43, however, is unperturbed. The two will play a total of 12 games till November 26 on a glass-encased, soundproof stage at a five-star hotel in Chennai. Their first four matches ended in draws.
