Blast in Imphal: One killed, Six injured

Imphal, Nov 07 (ANI): One person was killed and six others got seriously injured when a powerful bomb, exploded in Imphal. The blast took place just after a security meeting was being conducted two days ago, headed by the Chief Minister, in presence of Deputy Chief Minister, Top Brass Security Officials and Civil Officials. This is the latest in a series of attacks on migrant labourers in the state by militant outfits who want outsiders to leave the state. Nov 7, 2013

India-Bangladesh launch Joint Retreat Ceremony on eastern international border

West Bengal, Nov 07 (ANI): India and Bangladesh launched a Joint Retreat Ceremony at the Petrapole-Benapole border outpost at the eastern international border. Petrapole is located some 120-km north of Kolkata in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Benapole is the Bangladeshi side of the border. The ceremony includes parades, march-past and lowering of the national flag of both the countries and will henceforth be a daily routine, at sundown, on the eastern border. Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, who attended the Ceremony, said Bangladesh and India share the same culture and heritage and the Joint Retreat will help both countries strengthen their ties. Shinde also said taht India has already initiated steps to simplify visa rules for businessmen, students and those seeking medical treatment as well as signing of the Extradition treaties.
