Politicos react as PM says women s respect should be priority rapes should not be politicized

New Delhi, June 12 (ANI): Politicos on Thursday reacted over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first Lok Sabha speech in which he stressed upon safety for women. Modi said that respecting and safeguarding women should be our priority. He also expressed grief over all the crimes happening against women in different parts of the country. He then made a humble request to all the political leaders to stop politicizing rapes because by doing so they are playing with the dignity of women.

Soccer fan carves sculptures of footballers as FIFA World Cup begins

Sukumar Dutta Pal, a sculptor and a football fan, took over 45 days to make these idols.

BJP condemns Hamirpur Gang rape in police station

New Delhi, June 12 (ANI): BJP leaders on Thursday condemned the incident of gang rape in a police station in Hamirpur by police officials. Siddharth Nath Singh stated that crime against women in Uttar Pradesh is increasing because of lawlessness and inefficiency of the state government. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi also condemned the incident and said that unless government strictly applies laws against crime, condition will not improve in UP.

Campa Cola residents face eviction as deadline ends today

New Delhi, June 12 (ANI): The deadline for the residents of Campa Cola society in Mumbai to vacate their flats ends on Thursday. More than 100 residents who are living in the nine buildings have to vacate their apartments today following the Supreme Court order. The plea of residents of the building living there for years, located in suburban Worli, was rejected by the Supreme Court on Tuesday. Their plea sought a stay on the demolition of their flats till the court decides on their curative petition, which is to come up for hearing next month.

Woman allegedly gang-raped in Police Station in UP

Hamirpur, June 12 (ANI): A woman has allegedly been gangraped in Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur by the Sub-inspector inside the station premises. The woman said that the she had gone to the police station to get her husband released but the Sub-inspector asked her for a bribe of Rs 20,000. The woman did not pay the bribe and was allegedly told that a false case would be lodged against her. She was later taken to a room by Sub-inspector where she was raped by the senior officer and three other policemen. The police have lodged an FIR and the Sub-inspector has been arrested.

Police file negligence case in Mandi river tragedy

Mandi/ New Delhi, June 12 (ANI): Police filed a First Information Report (FIR) in Mandi river tragedy after 24 students were swept away by gushing waters from a dam discharge in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The students were from a private engineering college of Hyderabad and had gone missing on Sunday after stopping to take photographs. Police have filed negligence cases against the dam officials.
