New Delhi, May 26 (ANI): Authorities deployed over 6,000 security personnel from paramilitary commandos to police sharpshooters on Monday turning New Delhi into a virtual high security fortress ahead of the open-air oath-taking ceremony of Narendra Modi as the country's next prime minister at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. Delhi police with the help of other intelligence agencies and Rapid Action Force (RAF) soldiers kept a vigil eye as the ceremony will be attended by around 3000 guests. May 26, 2014

MDMK chief Vaiko detained for protesting Sri Lanka president's visit

New Delhi, May 26 (ANI): MDMK general secretary Vaiko, who staged a protest against the visit of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa for Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony, has been detained by Delhi Police after MDMK workers broke police barricades. Vaiko, who held a black-flag demonstration at Jantar Mantar, had opposed the invitation extended to the Sri Lankan President and had asked the Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi as well as BJP President Rajnath Singh to reconsider the decision. Gorakhpur, May 26 (ANI): At least four bogies of Gorakhdham Express got derailed at Sant Kabir Nagar and collided with a goods train on Monday. Gorakhdham Express was going from Delhi to Gorakhpur.
