2 dead, 3 injured in bomb blast in Faizabad Court premises

Faizabad, July 09 (ANI): At least two persons were killed and three others injured on Wednesday in a bomb blast which was followed by firing inside a court in Uttar Pradesh's Faizabad. According to reports, former UP legislator Sonu Singh's brother Monu and others were attacked inside the court. An advocate eye witness gave the account of the incident.

Politicos give mixed reactions on Modi govt's first Rail Budget

New Delhi, July 09 (ANI): The first rail budget of Narendra Modi led BJP government which was presented by Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda in the Parliament on Tuesday has drawn mixed political reactions. BJP leader Captain Abhimanyu has welcomed the budget saying that India has got such a modulated Budget after a long time. Meanwhile, NCP leader Tariq Anwar said that something new was being expected in the budget which did not come out. SP leader Naresh Agarwal said that the expectations were high but the new government could not fulfil them. CPI leader Atul Anjan stated that the rail budget was disappointing and the promise of bullet train is over exaggerated.

Venkaiah Naidu appeals to parties to maintain peace and decorum in Parliament

New Delhi, July 09 (ANI): Commenting on the alleged scuffle between the BJP and TMC, members of parliament, Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday appealed to all political parties to maintain peace and decorum in Parliament. He also asserted that traditions and rules of the Parliament should be duly followed by the members. He said that if Parliament goes on well and important discussion takes place then everybody should coordinate in it. He further added that government is always ready to have discussion on all the important issues.

New Delhi, July 09 (ANI): The crowning of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's close aid Amit Shah as the new BJP president drew reactions from political leaders on Wednesday. Shah was today appointed BJP president, marking Gujarat's firm grip over the ruling dispensation after Modi's elevation as Prime Minister. Shah was appointed to the top post at a meeting of Parliamentary Board where incumbent Rajnath Singh resigned after tenure of one-and-a-half years.
