Landslide hits Govt School in Kashmir, no casualty reported

Poonch, Sep 26 (ANI): A landslide hit a boarding school in Jammu and Kashmir but no one was injured. A huge chunk of land slipped due to incessant rains and damaged two blocks of the government school, which is under danger zone. The school authorities evacuated 98 students from the ill-fated building in time to save lives. The government has decided to shift 68 students of higher classes to other schools. Both the Indian and Pakistani sides of Kashmir region have seen extensive flooding this month, with Srinagar particularly hard hit. Hundreds of people have been killed and tens of thousands are homeless.

SandP upgrades India's credit outlook to stable from negative, Market Experts welcome

Judges should not accept constitutional posts upon retirement: CJI

New Delhi, Sep 26 (ANI): The 41st Chief Justice of India RM Lodha on Friday in a media conference said no judge should accept any constitutional or government assignment after his or her retirement. He further said that the law should be amended to ensure that at least for 2 years after retirement any judge is not given a constitutional post. Pakistan test fires short range surface-to-surface missile Hatf IX

Pakistan, Sep 26 (ANI): Pakistan on Friday conducted a successful test fire of short range surface to surface missile Hatf IX (NASR). NASR, with a range of 60 kilometres and in-flight manoeuvre capability is a quick response system, with shoot and scoot attributes. Ravi Shankar Prasad sweeps his office premises taking part in Clean India Mission

New Delhi, Sep 26 (ANI): Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday swept his department premises along with his officers in New Delhi as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi pet project 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' (Clean India Mission). The NDA Government pledges to completely clean India by October 2019, coinciding with 150th birth anniversary of freedom fighter and peace icon Mahatma Gandhi. Apple festival satiates taste buds of tourists in Shimla

Over 50 varieties of apples and apple products were put on display during the fest to attract tourists. Organizers believe that this attempt will promote tourism and bring people to apple orchards as well.
