Kashmir's electoral office organizes voter awareness camp to ensure record polling

Kathua, Nov 07 (ANI): The district administration in Jammu and Kashmir organized a voter awareness camp in Kathua district recently to ensure maximum participation in the upcoming polls. The assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in five-phases, beginning on November 25 and ending on December 20. The counting of votes will take place on December 23. One of the participants, Kuldeep Kumar, said vote is our right and most of the people do not know the value of voting and may ignore the election process. The awareness camp was part of "Matdaan Mahotsav"– a two-month long campaign under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), aimed to launch various campaigns and activities at village level. New Delhi, Nov 07 (ANI): Indian Navy Spokesperson Captain DK Sharma on Friday said that the navy is on a full scale search operation after the Indian Navy's torpedo recovery vessel (TRV) sank off the coast of Visakhapatnam at around 8:00 pm last night. He said that one sailor lost his life and four others went missing in the incident. The vessel was on a routine mission to recover practice torpedoes fired by fleet ships when she experienced flooding in one of her compartments. He claimed that at the time of the accident, there were 28 personnel on board. Sharma said that the prima facie reason as of now is the flooding of the engine room. Nov 7, 2014

With an aim to develop and promote handloom products of Varanasi this Trade Facilitation Centre and Crafts Museum is being established. Visakhapatnam, Nov 07 (ANI): Search and rescue operations are underway as a naval vessel sank outside the Visakhapatnam harbour. One navy personnel was killed and four went missing, while 23 personnel were rescued safely after the Torpedo Recovery Vessel (TRV) A-72 sank on Thursday. The vessel had 28 navy personnel on board. Naval ships and aircrafts including P8I, Dorniers, and Seaking 42 C with night vision capabilities have been deployed for the search and rescue operation.
