Varanasi, Nov 7 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday laid the foundation stone for a trade and craft facilitation centre for weavers in his home constituency Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Modi, who is on a two-day visit to the temple town Varanasi, arrived on Friday morning, where he is likely to firm up plans for its development of the city. With an aim to develop and promote handloom products of Varanasi this Trade Facilitation Centre and Crafts Museum is being established. Reportedly, the centre will be developed at the cost of rupees 500 million. Modi on the occasion said that after agriculture, it is textiles which generates maximum employment in the country and it needs technology upgradation to compete with the world. He added that his government we has begun work in this direction. Talking about the famous Benarasi sarees, he said that the sarees do not need any branding or marketing.
