New Delhi, Dec 01 (ANI): Congress on Monday released a booklet to highlight the poll promises by the BJP and their ‘U turn’ on the same. This came as a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) government in first six months of governance. Congress spokesperson Ajay Maken said BJP has failed to achieve what it mentioned in its manifesto before coming to power. New Delhi, Dec 1 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 134.37 points down to stand at 28,559.62. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 32.35 points down to stand at 8,555.90. GITANJALI and BERGER PAINT were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 19.96% and 11.78% along with TORRENT PHARMACEUTICALS LTD. and JETAIRWAYS with an increase of 8.81% and 8.09% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include PMCFIN and INDIABULLS REAL ESTATE LTD. with a decrease of 5.47% and 5.25% along with KAILASH and UNITECH with a decrease of 4.94% and 4.88% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 63.87 points at 19,283.92 while the banking sector is up 10.22 points at 21,212.07 and the reality sector is down10.48 points at 1,672.58. Activists distribute condoms to sex workers in Kolkata on World AIDS Day

Kolkata, Dec 01 (ANI): Sex workers in Sonagachi, one of Asia's largest red light districts located in Kolkata, pledged not to have sex without condoms to mark the World AIDS Day on Monday. The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) that causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is spread via blood, semen and breast milk. There is no cure for the infection, but AIDS can be kept at bay for many years with antiretroviral drugs. In the global battle against HIV/AIDS, sex workers like those in Sonagachi are a crucial link in a chain of infection. A 19-year-old sex worker who is in this profession because of her truant husband, said that cleanliness is very important to fight HIV/AIDS. The Project Director of HIV Intervention Programme in Sonagachi, Puja Roy, said that free condom service was initiated aiming to make Sonagachi a 'zero AIDS' region. Dec 1, 2014
