A man who broke into an apartment in Tempe, Arizona and held a child has been charged with burglary and kidnapping after the child’s father woke to find Oren Aharon Cohen in his apartment holding his two-year-old daughter. Cohen claims that he was “black-out drunk” when he entered the apartment. He has said he would never hurt a child, claiming he thought the girl was a “midget”. Dec 19, 2016

Nearly 500 people were evacuated from eastern Aleppo late at night on Sunday (18 December), after three days of delays stopped the process. The evacuations grounded to a halt on Friday (16 December) after pro-government forces demanded that people also be moved out of two Shi’ite villages besieged by insurgents.
