B-52 bomber drops record number of bombs on Taliban base

On February 4, a U.S. Air Force B-52 Bomber dropped a record-setting 24 bombs on Taliban bases in the Afghanistan province of Badakhshan, near the border with China and Tajikistan. United States Forces in Afghanistan said in a statement that the strikes targeted Taliban training bases and stolen Afghan National Army vehicles which were being converted into car bombs.
