Political parties wish for BJP defeat as early trends of by-polls surface

New Delhi/ Ahmedabad/ Mumbai, Sep 16 (ANI): Political parties on Monday wished for defeat of BJP and remained optimistic about themselves as early trends of by-polls surfaced. While Congress said that public is not happy with the BJP and that Congress will come to power now. NCP's Nawab Malik also said that people are not happy and satisfied with the BJP government and is therefore showing its anguish against the ruling party. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party remained optimistic and even confident of its win and said that the SP Chief and the government have worked tremendously for Uttar Pradesh and that people will decide in their favour. Backlogs regarding development of northeast will be cleared: VK Singh

New Delhi, Sept 16 (ANI): Minister for Development of Northeast Region, General Vijay Kumar Singh, said that development of the northeast region was a concern. Addressing a news conference in New Delhi, General Singh said development takes time and his ministry was reviewing the development projects operational in the region. The ministry is planning to establish national skill development council and calling in experts to provide skill development in northeast. Meanwhile, the minister said the Northeast Councils (NECs) could play a vital role in pushing the developmental model. New Delhi, Sept 16 (ANI): A train carrying around 260 Kashmir flood survivors arrived in New Delhi more than a week after the worst deluge hit the heavily militarized and disputed region in 50 years. Most of the flood survivors were daily wage workers from Bihar and Jharkhand. A Kashmir flood survivor, Ram, praised the government and the army for massive relief and rescue operations. This week we take you to the Haldwani City in Uttrankhand where devotees belonging to different communities pay obeisance to sufi saint, Syed Hazrat Jalal Shah. A large number of devotees, including men, women and children throng the annual Urs of Baba to pay rich tributes to saint. During the celebration, people gather around the shrine of Baba and chant hymns to seek blessings. Various rituals, as per Sufi tradition, are also performed here.
