Jitendra Singh takes the aerial survey of flooded Kashmir

Jammu/ Poonch. Sep 14 (ANI): Minister of State in prime minister's office (PMO) Jitendra Singh took an aerial survey of devastated Kashmir valley submerged in flood waters with many people still trapped atop their homes, while thousands crowded in relief camps. Both the Indian and Pakistan sides of the disputed Himalayan territory have been hit by extensive flooding since the Jhelum River, swollen by unusually heavy rain, surged last week. Meanwhile, Health Minister, Harsh Vardhan, also visited Poonch district and surveyed the areas worst hit. He also inspected the hospital and took stalk of the situation.

Fali Sam Nariman says minorities must be accommodated, hate speech prevented

New Delhi, Sep 13 (ANI): Indian Jurist Fali Sam Nariman said that the minorities must be accommodated by majority as there cannot be two separate sets of principle rights for people. 16 killed, 17 injured in bus accident in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand, Sep 13 (ANI): Sixteen people died and 17 others were injured after a bus fell into a gorge in Tehri district of Uttarakhand on Saturday. The bus was ferrying around 33 persons when it fell into a 300 feet deep gorge near Juyalgarh area on National Highway 58. After falling into the gorge, more than half of the bus submerged into a tributary which joins Alaknanda River. The bus was going from Rishikesh to Srinagar in Uttarakhand. The accident took place when the bus was trying to overtake another vehicle. Expressing deep shock at the loss of lives in the accident, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat announced a compensation of rupees 1,00,000 each to the families of the deceased and rupees 50,000 each for the injured.

Communication facilities being restored in flood-hit JandK: RS Prasad

New Delhi, Sep 13 (ANI): Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday while addressing mediapersons in New Delhi said that efforts are being made to restore communication facilities in flood-hit areas of JandK.
