Honoured to get Nobel Peace Prize: Malala Yousafzai advocating peace between India & Pak (Part-2)

London, Oct 10 (ANI): After winning the Nobel Peace Prize 2014, Pakistani Children's rights activists Malala Yousafzai said that she was honoured to receive such a pretigious award. Yousafzai said that it was an honour to share the award with Indian Children's rights advocate Kailash Satyarthi and that this gives a message of love between India and Pakistan. She said that she had a word with Satyarthi and that both advocates for peace along Indo-Pak border. Yousafzai also invited Indian PM Narendra Modi and his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif when the two receives the award in December. She also said that the award is not just a medal, but an encouragement to work for a greater cause. She said that she had two choices- to speak and get killed or not to speak and get killed- and she chose the latter for good of all.

Fire brought under control in jewellery showroom in Mumbai; no casualty

Mumbai, Oct 11 (ANI): A major fire broke out on Saturday morning in a jewellery showroom in Mumbai. Four water tankers and five fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Fire Officer Abhay Kale informed that no one was injured in the incident. The fire broke out on the top floor of the PN Jewellers building, where a restaurant was being operated.

Mark Zuckerberg meets PM Modi, charms him with his ideas

New Delhi, Oct 11 (ANI): Founder and CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and charmed him with his ideas during maiden visit to the country. Modi tweeted, "It was wonderful meeting @facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. We discussed a wide range of issues". Earlier in the day, Zuckerberg, met Communications &IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in New Delhi, pledging to help the government's Digital India initiative, an ambitious plan to connect a billion people to the internet. India has the second highest number of Facebook users in the world after the United States, but still only about 243 million out of 1.25 billion people have access to internet.

Carpet exporters expect boost in sales after PM Modi's US visit

Varanasi, Oct 11 (ANI): Exporters in carpet industry in Uttar Pradesh expect a boost in sales after the recent five-day US visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Traders say that the Bhadohi region of the state is one of the largest manufacturers of carpets and is considered to be an earning town. Also, 60 per cent of the carpets are exported to the US from India. In a bid to boost the industry, exporters said Modi's US visit would benefit them. Modi's five-day United States visit was aimed to woo corporate titans and crown a burst of investment-focused diplomacy.

Children hail Nobel win for child-rights activist Kailash Satyarthi

New Delhi, Oct 11 (ANI): India's street children cheered Nobel Peace Prize win for child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi who won the prize along with Pakistani teenaged activist Malala Yousafzai. Satyarthi, 60, and Yousafzai were picked for their struggle against the oppression of children and young people, and for the right of all children to education, the Norwegian Nobel Committee said. After winning the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize, Satyarthi on Friday had said that it is a matter of pride and honour for all fellow Indians and those fighting for rights of children in the world. He also added that this will give strength to the struggle of millions of children.
