India successfully launches third navigation satellite

Sriharikota, Oct 16 (ANI): India witnessed the successful launch of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C26) carrying the IRNSS-1C (Indian Navigation Satellite System) satellite, the third in a series of seven planned satellite launches from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday (October 16). The IRNSS-1C, is the third of the seven navigation satellites to put in place India's own navigation satellite system and has wide-ranging applications in terrestrial, aerial and marine navigation. Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), K Radhakrishnan said that the injection of PSLV-C26 was very accurate.
