No hard evidence against Hafiz Saeed, can_t put him in jail to please everyone: Pak Envoy

New Delhi, July 18 (ANI): Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit on Friday said that Hafiz Saeed is a private citizen of Pakistan and the country cannot put him behind bars in absence of _hard evidence_ against him. Basit also added that even though a country like America has put a bounty on him but they cannot arrest him to please anyone. Saeed, founder of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, is on top of India_s most wanted list, for plotting a series of terror strikes in India, including the 26/11 Mumbai attacks in 2008, in which 166 people were killed. SC acquits all 11 accused in the 1993 Surat bomb blasts case

New Delhi, July 18 (ANI): All 11 convicted in the 1993 Surat bomb blast case have been acquitted by the Supreme Court on Friday. Petitioner lawyer said that a two-judge bench of Justice TS Thakur and Justice C Nagappam not only acquitted all the 11 accused but also reversed a TADA court verdict that had sentenced them to jail from 10 to 20 years. The two blasts had taken place in January 1993 in Varachha area and on the platform number one of Surat railway station during the communal riots that broke out after the demolition of Babri Masjid. Politicos and Social Activists condemn Brutal gang-rape of woman in UP

New Delhi, July 18 (ANI): Political leaders and social activists on Friday condemned the gang rape of a woman in Balsinkheda village across the Mohanlalganj-Memaura road in UP. Leaders demanded strict action against the accused and blamed the state government for such a situation for women.
