Politicos react as Janata Parivar stages protest against Modi Government at Jantar Mantar

New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Monday as Janata Parivar staged a protest against the government at Jantar Mantar, over issues of Black money, unemployment, farmer issues and communal tensions in the country. Minister of State Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that no one would raise an objection if the ministers would stage a peaceful protest over the issues. However, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that Janata Parivar is not a Parivar or union and that they will dilute after next Lok Sabha elections. Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal said that Janata Dal is protesting to remind PM Modi about the promises he made before elections. JD (U) leader KC Tyagi also expresses similar sentiments. Tourists enjoy snowfall in Kashmir

Gulmarg/Amritsar, Dec 22 (ANI): Tourists enjoyed sleigh rides in Gulmarg area of Jammu and Kashmir as it received snowfall. Tourists threw snowballs at each other and were delighted to see snowfall. The fresh spell of snowfall came as a boon for tourist guides and operators as they hope it will increase tourist inflow in the state. Meanwhile, snowfall in upper regions of Kashmir impacted several northern parts of the country as temperatures plummeted in various regions, forcing residents to stay indoors. Dec 22, 2014

Congress workers protests against Ramdev over black money

Haridwar, Dec 22 (ANI): Thousand of workers of youth wing of Congress party held a demonstration against yoga guru Ramdev in Haridwar city. Irate workers broke police barricades and tried to proceed towards Ramdev's hermitage. Police used water canons and resorted to mild force to disperse the protesters. The workers alleged that Ramdev, in his campaign during general elections, had promised that if Narendra Modi came to power, he would bring back black money within 100 days, but nothing happened even after 200 days of Modi's rule. Congress has been accusing Prime Minister Modi-led government for not keeping its promise of bringing back the black money. Dec 22, 2014

Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid offers prayers at Sufi saint shrine in Ajmer

Ajmer, Dec 22 (ANI): Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid offered prayers at the historic 13th century shrine of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti at Ajmer in Rajasthan. Security arrangements in the city were beefed up during his visit in wake of Peshawar attack. Hamid arrived by a special helicopter and headed straight to the shrine. Hamid is on a six-day visit to India to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries. He is visiting India on an invitation by President Pranab Mukherjee, who visited Bangladesh in March 2013. His visit to India is the first by a ceremonial head of state of Bangladesh since 1972. Dec 22, 2014

Dense fog engulfs Delhi; trains, flights disrupted

New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): Dense fog enveloped Delhi on Monday, adversely affecting flights and trains. According to the media reports, 16 flights were delayed due to dense fog. Fifty trains were also delayed while 12 others were rescheduled due to fog. Visibility on roads also remained very poor. According to Indian Meteorological Department the sky will remain cloudy on Monday. The maximum and minimum temperature is likely to be around 16 and 6 degrees Celsius, respectively. Dec 22, 2014

Kejriwal promises not to resign as Delhi chief minister, if elected again

New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief Arvind Kejriwal said he would not resign as chief minister of Delhi, if elected to power, as he had done earlier this year. Hitting out at ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kejriwal said that the party failed to fulfill the promises it made during parliamentary polls in April-May.
