Blast in Imphal injures four

Imphal, Feb 12 (ANI): Four people sustained injuries in a grenade explosion in Imphal city Manipur. All the four wounded persons were rushed to a local government hospital. Condition of one of the injured persons, identified as Laishram Pilot (24), was said to be serious. After the explosion, paramilitary and state police team investigated the area. Gun totting security personnel manned streets and examined the blast site. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the blast. Feb 12, 2015

New Delhi, Feb 12 (ANI): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley met US treasury secretary Jacob J Lew on Thursday. RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan was also present at the meeting. Lew is in India to attend the fifth U.S.-India Economic and Financial Partnership Dialogue in New Delhi. He recently met Indian business leaders in financial hub Mumbai at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and US-India Business Council Roundtable ahead of the dialogue in Delhi that will focus on capital market reforms and economic policies between the two countries. New Delhi, Feb 12 (ANI): The inauguration ceremony of the temple made to worship Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Rajkot's Kothadia village has been cancelled after his disapproving tweet on the same. According to reports, the initiator has decided to remove the idol and photograph from the site and build a "Bharat Mata" temple in its place. Modi earlier in the day had tweeted, "Have seen the news about a temple being built in my name. I was appalled. This is shocking and against India's great traditions. Building such Temples is not what our culture teaches us. Personally, it made me very sad. Would urge those doing it not to do it." At least three injured after a bridge collapses in Delhi's Pitampura

New Delhi, Feb 12 (ANI): Atleast three people were injured after a bridge collapsed in Delhi's Pitampura area on Thursday. According to reports, two cars were trapped under the debris. The injured were rushed to the nearby hospital. Reportedly, the incident took place at Madhuban Chauk at 10 am when a pillar of an under construction bridge collapsed and fell on the cars, an Alto and an Ikon. Police is investigating the matter. New Delhi, Feb 12 (ANI): MEA Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin on Thursday said it was providing all consular assistance to Indian national, Sureshbhai Patel, who was left partially paralyzed in the US after allegedly being thrashed by a policeman. The said the Consulate General in Atlanta had been in touch with the Madison police chief, who had ordered an inquiry into the incident. As per reports, the policeman forced Sureshbhai Patel, 57, to the ground when he went out for a walk.
