Dehradun, Feb 21 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Saturday took the help of a chair to felicitate wrestler Khali in a function organized at his residence. Rawat, with the help of security officials, stood atop a chair and felicitated Khali with a 'shawl' and a 'garland'. Apparently, standing atop the chair was the only option for the CM considering Khali's height. Corporate Espionage Case: Petroleum Minister on Santanu Saikia's allegations

New Delhi, Feb 21 (ANI): Reacting over former journalist Santanu Saikia's allegations in Corporate Espionage Case, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday ruled out any suggestion that the authorities were covering up matters, and said Saikia was only trying to save his own skin. Saikia, who was arrested by the Delhi Police yesterday in connection with the alleged leak of confidential documents from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) to private oil companies, today created a sensation by claiming that it was a Rs 10,000 crore scam and that he was just covering it. Poonch, Feb 21 (ANI): Heavy rainfall in several areas in Jammu and Kashmir washed away a portion of Sher-e-Kashmir bridge, snapping main land link to Poonch city. Kashmir valley remained cut off from the rest of the country due to heavy rains, accompanied by snowfall and landslides. Normal life was paralyzed in the state's winter capital Jammu. Residents were angry as the local administration was providing little help to the marooned people. NGO spreads awareness about swine flu in J and K

Srinagar/ Jammu, Feb 21 (ANI): A non-government organization in Jammu and Kashmir on distributed masks and undertook awareness campaign to prevent spread of deadly swine flu in different parts of valley. India has seen a sharp rise in the number of swine flu deaths and reported cases this year. Nearly 700 lives have been claimed in the country due to the deadly disease, prompting officials to investigate the cause and step up efforts to combat the virus. The volunteers are distributing free face masks and literature at places where large gatherings take place. Acid attack perpetrators to be jailed for ten years, says Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, Feb 21 (ANI): Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that the government will punish acid attack perpetrators with ten years imprisonment. Singh said the acid attack victims faced the worst mental and physical repercussions of the attack. He added that two new sections have been added to the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act 2013 to classify the crime as "heinous". Tibetans in exile in Dharamsala seek divine blessing on their new year

Dharamsala, Feb 21 (ANI): Tibetans living in-exile in Dharamsala visited a Buddhist temple to seek divine blessing on the second day of the three-day New Year, Losar. Year 2015 is regarded as the Female Wood Sheep year as per the lunar calendar. Traditionally, celebrations begin with Tsedor or Losar prayers to the official protecting deity Palden Lhamo. The devotees gathered at the Buddhist temple, Tsuglagkhang and prayed in front of statues of Lord Buddha. 'Losar' is also marked with ancient ceremonies that symbolise the struggle between good and evil. Burari Incident: AAP may move court if police doesn't take action

New Delhi, Feb 21 (ANI): In an update to Burari incident which took place last night; six AAP workers who had been detained were produced in the court. Lawyer Basant Singh said that police should take the due course of action against the charge of not filing an FIR in Burari police station. He added that if police does not resort to the legal procedure AAP may also move Court in the matter.
