BSE closes points 247.38 down on Feb 20

New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 247.38 points down to stand at 29,214.89. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 61.70 points down to stand at 8,833.60. SREI INFRASTRUCTURE FINANCE LTD and IDBI were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 9.82% and 8.42% along with CONCOR and JAIN IRRIGATION SYSTEMS LTD. with an increase of 7.59% and 6.05% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include PMCFIN and Bajaj Finance LTD with a decrease of 4.09% and 3.98% along with GODREJ CONSUMER PRODUCTS LTD. and DEN with a decrease of 3.82% and 3.78% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 14.94 points at 19,832.70 while the banking sector is down 137.33 points at 21,819.46 and the reality sector is up at 12.02 points at 1,761.25. Anna Hazare flags off 'padayatra' against land acquisition ordinance

Palwal, Feb 20 (ANI): Anti-Graft Crusader Anna Hazare on Friday flagged off the 'padayatra' against the land acquisition ordinance from the Gandhi Ashram in Palwal, Haryana. Anna had yesterday lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for removing the provisions which provided taking the farmers' consent before acquiring their land. The social activist will stage a protest in the national capital on February 24 against the Land Acquisition Bill and request the government to withdraw the ordinance. West Bengal, Feb 20 (ANI): The West Bengal government has repatriated 111 Bangladeshi fishermen detained for illegal fishing in Indian waters. The release came ahead of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s maiden trip to Bangladesh. Reportedly, Banerjee announced the release of fishermen hours before she left for her three-day trip to Dhaka. During her visit, she is scheduled to meet Bangladesh's President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
