New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): Political leaders on Monday reacted over Former Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju_s statement claiming that the UPA government was forced by its ally to save a corrupt judge in Madras High Court. Congress leader Veerappa Moily said that Katju should have raised his voice at that time so that the government could have taken some action. Congress leader Rajeev Shukla also stated that Katju should have raised the issue when it was hot so that proper investigation could have been done in the matter. Indian Army defuses two live mortar shells in Kashmir

RS Pura, July 21 (ANI): Indian Army defused two live mortar shells in a village in R.S. Pura sector in Jammu city of Jammu and Kashmir. The explosives were recovered following the cross-border firing which started on July 16 when Pakistani side targeted an Indian post in RS Pura sector in which a soldier died and three others were injured. Police to present arrested accused in sexual assault of minor in Bangalore before Court

Bangalore, July 21 (ANI): Police in Bangalore city of Karnataka arrested one accused in the sexual assault of a six-year-old school girl which will be produced before court on Monday. The accused, Mustafa alias Munna, who is in his early 30s, was working as a skating instructor in the school since 2011. A native of eastern province of Bihar, he had been staying in Bangalore for more than 20 years. Discussion on Gaza violence to be held in Rajya Sabha

Family of woman murdered brutally in Lucknow demands CBI probe

Deoria, July 21 (ANI): Family of a 32-year-old woman, who was found dead with grisly wounds in her private parts in Lucknow defied police report that said there were no traces of rape before murder, and demanded CBI probe. The victim_s mutilated body was found in a school in Mohanlalganj area of Lucknow on Friday. Earlier it was speculated the woman was gang-raped before the murder, due to multiple injuries and stab wounds, but police on Sunday claimed there was only one accused involved in the crime and his attempt to rape before killing had failed. Wall collapse in Bhopal kills two

Israel expands ground offensive in Gaza, kills at least 40 Palestinians

Gaza, July 20 (ANI): At least 40 Palestinians were killed on Sunday by Israeli shelling in a Gaza neighbourhood, where bodies were strewn in the street and thousands fled toward a hospital packed with wounded, health officials said. The mass casualties in the Shejaia district in northeast Gaza were the heaviest since Israel launched its offensive on the Palestinian territory on July 8 after cross-border rocket strikes by militants intensified.
