Congress continues protest on second day post the rail budget announcement

Bengaluru, July 09 (ANI): The lawmakers and workers of Congress party showed their resentment against the new rail budget by staging protest in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's new government on Tuesday presented its first railway budget, promising to seek increased foreign and domestic private investment to fund modernisation of the country's huge but badly stretched network. New Delhi, July 09 (ANI): BJP and Congress leaders on Wednesday reacted to reports of Rahul Gandhi sleeping in the Lok Sabha during a discussion on inflation. Security forces seize drugs worth millions near Pakistan border

Amritsar, July 09 (ANI): India's paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) personnel seized heroin worth millions along with fake Indian currency notes near Pakistan border in northern state of Punjab. BSF personnel claimed on Wednesday to have seized four kilogrammes of heroin in the consignment which was confiscated in Amritsar on Tuesday. DIG of BSF, MF Farooqui, said the personnel challenged the intruder after noticing some suspicious movement on the other side of barbed fencing on India-Pakistan border. Family members of abducted Indian in Herat seek assistance in his rescue

Chennai, July 09 (ANI): Family members of abducted Indian aid worker, Alexis Prem Kumar in Herat province in Afghanistan, submitted a petition to the chief minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa, on Wednesday, seeking her assistance in rescuing Kumar. Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan, Amar Sinha on June 16 had said that the aid worker abducted in Herat was safe and the government was working towards his release.
