M Karunanidhi celebrates his 91st birthday with DMK leaders

Chennai, June 03 (ANI): Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Chief M Karunanidhi celebrated his 91st birthday on Tuesday in Chennai city of Tamil Nadu. Cadres of the regional party held a grand bash at his residence, where thousands of supporters gathered to be a part of his birthday celebrations, by decorating it with his posters. DMK General Secretary Anbazhagan along with party cadres honoured the party chief with a shawl. Indian actress Khushboo was ecstatic on the occasion and wished a long life for the party chief. The party chief, however, had not been greeted by his elder son and expelled member of the party, MK Alagiri, so far.

Singapore Navy Chief receives tri-service Guard of Honour in New Delhi

New Delhi, June 03 (ANI): Singapore Navy Chief, Rear-Admiral, Ng Chee Peng, who is on a visit to India, received a tri-service Guard of Honour at presidential palace in New Delhi on Tuesday. Rear-Admiral is on a visit which is a part of Singapore Indian Maritime Bilateral Exercise (SIMBEX) between the two countries. Indian navy chief, Admiral Robin K Dhowan, said Ng Chee Peng's visit to India will strengthen the ties between the two maritime nations. SIMBAX is in its 21st edition and is held every year since its induction in 1994 starting off with anti-submarine warfare. Ng Chee Peng hoped for scope of SIMBAX between the two nations to reach a higher plane.

Modi also interacted with Munde's family members and consoled them at the time of grief. Munde's mortal remains was brought to BJP headquarters, where party leaders paid their respect to the late minister.

Gopinath Munde's body placed at BJP headquarters for last respect

New Delhi, June 3 (ANI): Gopinath Munde's mortal remains have been placed at BJP headquarters where party leaders are paying their last respect. Nitin Gadkari received Munde's family at the IGI airport in Delhi. Senior leaders have already reached the headquarters to pay their tributes to Munde. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to pay his tribute to Munde this afternoon. Munde's body will be airlifted to Mumbai and taken to his Worli residence, later today. The last rites of the late Rural Development Minister will be performed on Wednesday. Munde tragically passed away on Tuesday morning after meeting with an accident in Delhi's Prithviraj-Tughlak Road at around 6:30 am. Munde was rushed to the Safdarjung Hospital and was later shifted to the AIIMS trauma centre where he was declared dead.

New Delhi, June 03 (ANI): The news of senior BJP leader and Union Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde's death in an accident on early Tuesday shocked the party leaders.
