Khaleda Zia blames Bangladesh govt for recent incidents of abduction & murder

Dhaka, May 02 (ANI): Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister and BNP Chief Khaleda Zia, blamed the ruling Awami League for a spate of recent incidents of abduction and murder, questioning safety of the common people. Zia while addressing a rally issued a ‘red alert’ urging 19 party leaders and activists to stage anti-government movement. Zia said that she would take to streets along with the people to ensure their security. During the rally, Zia also urged the government to sit for a dialogue to find a way to hold free and fair polls in order to find an unbiased government. May 2, 2014

Varanasi, may 02 (ANI): BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday hit back at Congress leaders Sushil Kumar Shinde and Kapil Sibal over appointment of a judge over Snoopgate investigation. Prasad stated that Congress is acting shamefully as they are on the verge of leaving the government a few days later. He particularly slammed Union Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde saying that under his leadership crime has increased rapidly in Delhi. Congress had filed an FIR against BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi for probe in Snoopgate scandal in which women’s phone conversations were said to have been tapped by Gujarat Police. Aurangabad, May 2 (ANI): The Tiger pair named 'Samrudhi and Siddharth' at the Siddharth Garden and Zoo of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in India's western Maharashtra province has given birth to three cubs recently, who made their first public appearance. The director at the zoo, B.S. Naikwade said the three cubs, two female and one male, were born eight weeks ago to tigress Samrudhi. The three cubs were kept in a safe place due to critical period at initial stages of their birth. The newly born cubs are the fourth generation of tigers in this zoo. Twelve years ago a pair named 'Tara and Jahangir' brought to Aurangabad district from a zoo in northern state Punjab gave birth to the pair of 'Dipti and Guddu' and the same pair had given birth to 'Samrudi and Siddharth'. Meanwhile, the zoo authorities have sent one pair of tigers each to a zoo in central city of Indore and Borivali Zoo in western Mumbai city. India holds over half of world's tiger population. According to a 2011 census report, tiger population was estimated to be around 1,700. But media reports say the Indian tiger faces threat of extinction due to various reasons including hunting, poaching and lack of genetic diversity. May 2, 2014

Mumbai, May 2 (ANI): As a lead up to International Dance day, Bollywood choreographer, Sandip Soparkarr, organised a Dance Week and invited all dance lovers and enthusiasts to show some moves and grooves, in India's entertainment capital, Mumbai. The week- long celebrations prior to International Dance Day celebrated on April 29 every year culminated with some special performances by Bollywood celebs. The organiser of the event, Bollywood choreographer, Sandip Soparrkar, said that the event was the first of its kind in the country. Each day was dedicated to one form of dance; there were shows, competitions, interactive sessions and performances. From folk dance to classical dances like Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Odissi and the Classic Russian Ballet, Salsa, Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Jazz and Funk dances, one can celebrate everything. Veteran Bollywood choreographer, Saroj Khan, who inaugurated the event said that such events give a boost to art forms like dance and she was happy to be a part of it. Tamil Nadu, May 2 (ANI): Enthusiasts thronged Coimbatore city in Tamil Nadu on April 26 for 'Aeroplus 2014', which exhibited more than 20 varieties of aircrafts, choppers and their manoeuvre. The exhibition is being organised by Nehru College of Aeronautical Science and will continue for three days. Most of the aircrafts that were on display have been brought from Indian Air Force and other foreign countries.The visitors were mostly attracted to miniature helicopter, which was designed by an aeronautical student. One of the distinct characteristics of this miniature chopper was it cannot be detected by radar which can be greatly useful for the armed forces.Some of the aircrafts that were on display included Hawker 1A, Beech aircraft, King Air C-90 aircraft, Cessna 150D, a rare Enstrom F-28 helicopter, etc. Inside the exhibition halls, visitors also got the chance to witness an international airport which was prepared in the form of a big model. There were runways, terminals, security points, radar, repair yard, flying club, parking area arranged along with the aircrafts. Engine models were also put on display including MIG-21 fighter plane engine. Aircraft accessories, aviation photo gallery and cockpit instruments were also set up in this novel exhibition. BJP approaches EC over booth capturing in West Bengal

Kolkata, May 02 (ANI): BJP President in West Bengal, Rahul Sinha on Friday approached the Election Commission alleging polling booth capture and malpractices by rival parties during the elections held on April 30. Close to 81 percent polling was registered in West Bengal on the day of seventh phase of polls in the nine-phased general election. Rahul Sinha called EC ‘over confident’ and slammed it for going by the reports submitted by the election officials on the polling booth despite media reports informing about malpractices that occurred on Wednesday. Polling in six more parliamentary constituencies is scheduled for May 7 in West Bengal. Sinha suggested EC to conduct a fair investigation into the complaint based on video footages by media.
