Bihar by polls: RJD, JD (U), Congress announce pact to counter BJP

Patna, July 30 (ANI): The three major political parties in Bihar, JD (U), RJD and Congress on Wednesday sealed an alliance to contest the upcoming Assembly by-elections in the state. Addressing mediapersons in Patna, senior JD (U) leader Vashistha Narayan Singh said JD (U), RJD, Congress have decided to contest the upcoming by-polls in the state together. It has also been decided that the three parties will jointly campaign.

Heavy rains halt life in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, July 30 (ANI): Heavy rains in Ahmedabad brought life to a standstill on Wednesday but cheered people up. The incessant rains that started a night ago clogged city roads, creating huge potholes in them. The rainwater also flooded roads outside Ahmedabad's airport and caused inconvenience to people. People blamed carelessness of local Municipal Corporation for the water-filled roads, uprooting of trees and power shortages. However, rainfall has come as a relief to people trying to cope up with the unbearable summers in India. According to the weather department, monsoon has reached over Gujarat and has lashed most parts of the state.

New Delhi, July 30 (ANI): Former Air Chief SP Tyagi's Cousin Sanjeev Tyagi on Wednesday said that he is pained that false allegations are levied against him and his cousin in the AugustaWestland Deal. Tyagi said that the entire deal happened under the eyes of Defence Ministry still CBI has put false allegations. India cancelled the €560 million order with Finmeccanica's unit AgustaWestland for 12 top-end helicopters in January, after bribe-taking was alleged by Italian prosecutors.

Pune Landslide: Many feared trapped, 5 bodies recovered

Supertech Case: SC orders builders to refund buyers_ money

New Delhi, July 30 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Wednesday gave a ruling that Supertech Builders should fulfill their commitment to the buyers and refund their invested money. The Court also asked Supertech to allot another flat to allottees who did not want to get a refund. The Allahabad High Court in April ordered the demolition of two 40-storey towers of real estate firm Supertech for illegal construction. The residential towers were part of the Emerald Court Project in Noida.
