New Delhi, Sept 03 (ANI): Political leaders on Wednesday condemned the attack on BJP MLA Jitender Singh Shunty. Shunty was attacked by an unidentified man in Delhi's Vivek Vihar area on Wednesday morning. Shots were fired outside Singh's house as the man tried to attack him. Thane, Sept 03 (ANI): Landslide caused by heavy rains in Thane district in Maharashtra claimed life of an eight-year-old girl and left seven others injured. Omar Abdullah promises to compensate families affected due to cross-border shelling

Jammu, Sept 03 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met the families affected by Pakistan's ceasefire violations along the international border and promised to amend the existing compensation SRO policy. He expressed regret over the fact that solely militancy affected families get relief funds, and not the ones which also suffer due to cross-border shelling. Abdullah added whoever has borne heavy losses due to damage to their crops because of exchange of fire will also be compensated with free ration for three months.
