Truck accident in Kanpur kills 10, injures two

Kanpur, Sep 3 (ANI): Ten people died and two critically injured when a speeding truck overturned near a construction site in the wee hours of Wednesday in Kanpur. The victims who were construction workers were sleeping on the road in a slum area in Kanpur city when the truck lost balance as the wheels got stuck in a manhole and overturned upon them. Superintendent of Kanpur Police, Prabhakran, investigating into the accident confirmed that the mishap claimed ten lives and assured further probe into the incident. The bodies were recovered from under the sand. According to media reports, the truck driver fled after the accident. Sep 3, 2014
