Mumbai/ New Delhi/ Chennai, Oct 04 (ANI): Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar defended decision of state-run television channel Doordarshan (DD) to broadcast speech of RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat live on the occasion of Dussehra festival. Doordarshan for the first time carried Bhagwat address to the RSS members live on the 89th Foundation Day celebrations, where he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Reacting on the same, CPI (M) leader Brinda Karat sought an apology from the I and B minister. Meanwhile, DMK leader TKS Elangovan said it could set a bad precedent. Ganesh Venkatadri elated over mention of his suggestion in PM's AIR address

Mumbai, Oct 04 (ANI): Ganesh Venkatadri, whose name was mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his first on air radio address to the nation on Friday, felt elated and said his goal was attained while encourages youngsters to connect with their leader via social media. Modi went live on public service All India Radio (AIR) from New Delhi for about 20 minutes, in a pilot of a show he hoped would become a weekly opportunity to reach up to two-thirds of India's 1.2 billion people. Surprised and happy Ganesh Venkatadri, whose suggestion was mentioned by the PM Modi during his radio address, said he felt as if his objective and duty towards the country was fulfilled. At least 32 people killed and many other injured in Patna stampede, probe underway

Patna, Oct 04 (ANI): At least 32 people were killed and manyothers injured in a major stampede in Patna city of Bihar during celebrations of Dussehra. The incident took place at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Eyewitness's said that chaos was created after an electric wire fell on the ground. According to reports, most of the deceased are women and children. The injured were immediately rushed to Patna Medical College Hospital. District Magistrate, Manish Verma confirmed the death toll and said that the injured were under treatment in the hospital. Meanwhile, locals blamed the absence of any lighting at the venue for the accident and also the police who they alleged had kept two of the four exits closed for the VIP movement.
