Politicos react as Exit polls suggest clear majority for AAP in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Political parties on Monday react as exit polls suggest clear majority for AAP in Delhi Assembly elections. Most of the exit polls say AAP will have clear majority against BJP, a day before the announcement of the results. AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said that the party will wait for the results and not go by the exit polls. However, he also said that the exit polls have downplayed AAP's performance and that the party will gain more number of seats. Congress leader Manish Tewari accepted the exit polls and said that Congress' votes in Delhi have been diverted to AAP. BJP leader Srikant Sharma said that the exit polls are not accurate always and that the party is confident of making government in the national capital. Kashmiri separatist leader calls for complete shutdown

Srinagar, Feb 09 (ANI): Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Monday called for complete shutdown in Kashmir to observe death anniversary of Mohammad Afzal Guru, who was executed for masterminding militant attack on Parliament in New Delhi. All the shops remained closed and traffic was off the roads in Srinagar as well as other parts of the valley. The normal business was affected due to the non availability of traffic. Meanwhile, the state government imposed a curfew across Srinagar to prevent protest rallies on the day. Security forces anticipating unrest have imposed curfew in Srinagar and ordered people off the streets. Police officers and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have stepped up surveillance across the city. These saints have preached oneness on the soil of Jammu and Kashmir which is a mix of different religious faiths. Their spirituality and simple life attracted people of different faiths and they embraced their teachings, besides holding them in high regard. A similar example is seen at the Shrine of Ejmail in Rajouri of Jammu and Kashmir, where devotees pay obeisance to saint and seek his blessings. Thronging the shrine in thousands, the devotees hold the day-and-night-long prayers to pay homage to the saint, besides asking for fulfillment of their wishes. According to reports the meeting stressed on better coordination among state and central paramilitary forces of the four states to plug loopholes and counter the rebels. Guwahati, Feb 09 (ANI): Motorcyclists rode through streets of Guwahati in Assam to create awareness about endangered one-horned rhinoceros, typical to the region in the country. The bike rally, organised by Royal Enfield and a club Rhino Riders, saw participation of 50 enthusiasts who wore T-shirts with messages, 'Rhinos will live', and waved flags. A participant from Rhino Riders, Siddhartha Bhattacharya, said that it was important for citizens to know about the rampant killings of the animal. Singapore president receives ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam attended official welcome in New Delhi on Monday at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Yam walked along a red carpet and stood under a red canvas as a military band played the Singapore and national anthem. On his arrival at the presidential palace, he was welcomed by President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After brief pleasantries, Yam took the salute and inspected the guard of honour. Yam arrived in national capital on Sunday on a four-day-visit to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
