Police recover bodies of British couple in hotel in Agra

Agra, Oct 23 (ANI): Police on October 21 recovered the dead bodies of a British couple from a hotel room in Agra. Police suspected it to be a case of drug overdose as several bottles of cough syrups, strips of sleeping pills and anti-depressants were found lying next to the bodies on the bed.The police said that James Oliver Gaskell (28) and Alexandra Nichola Louise Gaskell (24) are residents of United Kingdom. Hotel manager, Jagdish Gupta, said the couple had arrived in the hotel a day before they were found dead. The investigation into the matter is on and the British Commission has also been informed. NIA Chief visits blast site in Burdwan

Burdwan / New Delhi, Oct 24 (ANI): The Director General (DG) of National Investigation Agency (NIA), Sharad Kumar, on Friday (October 24) visited blast sites in Burdwan to monitor the probe. The explosions in Burdwan district in West Bengal on October 02 had left two suspected militants dead, while the city court has sent three accused in police custody till October 22. Later, two women were also arrested in connection with the blast on October 05. Policeman shot dead by suspected militants in Kulgam District

Anantnag, Oct 24 (ANI): A Policeman was shot dead by unknown militants in Jammu and Kashmir. The gunmen fired at Rafiq Ahmad Mir outside his residence in Kulgam district. Mir’s family members are clueless about the murder. His body was brought to his home on Friday. Rafiq was shifted to sub-district hospital in Bijbehara town where doctors declared him brought dead. The policeman, who was posted with IRP 12 battalion and posted at Mattan area in Anantnag district, was on leave and had reached home only Thursday, officials said.
