Ram Jethmalani pens advise to Arun Jaitley on black money case

Mumbai, Oct 24 (ANI): Senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani said on Friday that he has given his piece of advice on the black money case to the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley through a scathing letter. Accusing Jaitley of not doing enough in the black money case the senior lawyer said that Jaitley's conduct shows that he too, like many others, does not want the truth to come out. Fierce gunbattle in Kashmir between security forces and militants

SIMI suspects sent to judicial remand on the basis of evidence: Mahender Reddy

Vietnam PM to visit India on Oct 27th Part - 2

New Delhi, Oct 24 (ANI): Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will make a state visit to India on October 27 and 28. Speaking of the close relations between New Delhi and Hanoi, Syed Akbaruddin also spoke of the parabolic growth in trade between the two nations. Speaking of Prime Minister Dung's itinerary during his visit to India, Akbaruddin confirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam leader will hold bilateral talks during his stay. Prime Minister Dung's visit to India comes after President Pranab Mukherjee travelled to Vietnam last month and Sushma Swaraj made a three-day tour of Hanoi in August this year.

Bursting of firecrackers added to the air, noise and garbage pollution even as massive awareness drives advocating a noiseless and pollution free festival were conducted in different parts of the country by activists, police and civic administration. Accusing people of not remembering Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Clean India Mission', a cleaner in Nagpur city in Maharashtra, Sarita Yadav, said people should act more responsibly by cleaning off the remnants after bursting the crackers.

Police recover bodies of British couple in hotel in Agra

Agra, Oct 23 (ANI): Police on October 21 recovered the dead bodies of a British couple from a hotel room in Agra. Police suspected it to be a case of drug overdose as several bottles of cough syrups, strips of sleeping pills and anti-depressants were found lying next to the bodies on the bed.The police said that James Oliver Gaskell (28) and Alexandra Nichola Louise Gaskell (24) are residents of United Kingdom. Hotel manager, Jagdish Gupta, said the couple had arrived in the hotel a day before they were found dead. The investigation into the matter is on and the British Commission has also been informed.

NIA Chief visits blast site in Burdwan

Burdwan / New Delhi, Oct 24 (ANI): The Director General (DG) of National Investigation Agency (NIA), Sharad Kumar, on Friday (October 24) visited blast sites in Burdwan to monitor the probe. The explosions in Burdwan district in West Bengal on October 02 had left two suspected militants dead, while the city court has sent three accused in police custody till October 22. Later, two women were also arrested in connection with the blast on October 05. The involvement of militant outfits like Lashkar-e-Toiba and Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami (Bangladesh-based) are being suspected in the case as a large number of watch dials, SIM cards, and other tools required to make improvised explosive devices were found in the house.

Policeman shot dead by suspected militants in Kulgam District

Anantnag, Oct 24 (ANI): A Policeman was shot dead by unknown militants in Jammu and Kashmir. The gunmen fired at Rafiq Ahmad Mir outside his residence in Kulgam district. Mir’s family members are clueless about the murder. His body was brought to his home on Friday. Rafiq was shifted to sub-district hospital in Bijbehara town where doctors declared him brought dead. The policeman, who was posted with IRP 12 battalion and posted at Mattan area in Anantnag district, was on leave and had reached home only Thursday, officials said. Meanwhile, Army, Special Operation Group of Police and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) cordoned off the area and launched the hunt to nab the suspected militants.

"On the Raising Day of ITBP, I salute our brave ITBP personnel. We are proud of their valour, determination and service to the Nation," he said on Twitter. The ITBP was raised on October 24, 1962. Presently, the ITBP is deployed on border guarding duties from Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Jachep La in Arunachal Pradesh covering 3,488 km of Indo-China border and manning Border Outposts in the Western, Middle and Eastern Sector of the Indo-China border.
