Bengaluru, Feb 02 (ANI): In another case of alleged corporal punishment in a school of Bengaluru, at least 10 boys' heads were tonsured by hostel authorities. Two boys, brothers studying in a reputed school of Bengaluru, have alleged that their heads were shaved by staff of the school hostel as punishment for not attending classes. A complaint has been filed and investigation is underway. When contacted, the school's rector said the heads of five boys were shaved with their consent for hygienic reason. Feb 2, 2015

New Delhi, Feb 02 (ANI): In a big jolt to BJP just five days ahead of Delhi Assembly Elections, BJP state executive member and Kiran Bedi's election campaign in-charge Narendra Tandon resigned from the party on Monday. The reasons for Tandon's resignation are yet to be known. Tandon, in his resignation letter to BJP President Amit Shah, said that he “could not tolerate” the way Bedi gave instructions to party workers. “Her (Kiran Bedi) aides used to insult me on every issue,” his letter stated. Srinagar, Feb 02 (ANI): Fresh spell of snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir brought cheers to residents and turned the valley into a picturesque panorama. The capital city, Srinagar, received season's first snowfall which ended long dry spell. As per local media reports, the weather department has predicted snowfall during next three days. The minimum temperature recorded was minus 0.2 degree Celsius. Residents were happy as they said that the 40-day long Chillai Kalan, believed to be the harshest winter period in the valley, was over. Snowfall would bring some relief to people as health problems associated with dry winters would also end. Moreover, the snowfall would help increase water level in rivers and streams. 91 children run away from juvenile jail in Meerut

Meerut, Feb 02 (ANI): In a shocking incident in Meerut city, 91 children absconded from a Bal Sudhar Grah (Children Reformation Home) during wee hours on Monday morning. The children made a cloth-rope and jumped over the jail's kitchen wall, the rear side of the premises, at around 3 AM which according to the District Police Officer (DPO) Yatendra Singh, was not being guarded by any police official since the wall was quite high. At present, 185 children were in jail, of which 56 had been shifted to Bulandshahr city and some more were about to be shifted in Ghaziabad.
