Two policemen killed, six injured in Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Feb 03 (ANI): Two policemen were killed and six other security personnel injured when heavily-armed Maoists opened fire on them in Chhattisgarh. The local police, along with paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) were conducting a combing operation in Pakhanjur area of Kanker district following a tip off when Maoists in large numbers attacked the security personnel. Authorities had rushed a chopper to airlift the injured personnel and sent reinforcements to the site to nab rebels. The Maoists, also known as Naxals in India, are inspired by the political philosophy of China's late Chairman Mao Zedong. They say they are fighting for the rights of poor farmers and landless labourers. Feb 3, 2015

Bangladesh delegation arrives in Tripura to discuss cross-border crimes

Agartala, Feb 03 (ANI): A team of Bangladeshi delegation arrived in Tripura to hold District Magistrate (DM) and Deputy Commissioner (DC) level talks to resolve trans-border issues. Indian officials received the 25-member delegation at Akhaura checkpost (between India and Bangladesh) in which besides the district heads, district police heads, officials of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) were also present. The team consists of heads of those four districts of Bangladesh that share border with Tripura. The Bangladeshi delegation will meet with their Indian counterparts on Tuesday to discuss issues related to curbing border crimes and to increase trade between the northeastern states and Bangladesh. A visiting member from Bangladesh, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bangladesh's Moulvibazar area, Md Kamrul Hasan said for the first time such initiative has been taken and hopefully such talks would continue in the future too. BJP alleges AAP accepts black money as funds

New Delhi, Feb 03 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party questioned the source of Aam Aadmi Party's funding, alleging that AAP accepted black money, ahead of Delhi polls. The BJP alleged that shell companies were created to transfer rupees 20 million to the AAP on April 05, 2014, while official records pointed that these companies didn't make any profit and had common directors. The BJP further added that AAP circumvented Indian laws to accept donation from foreign company. But the party was silent on initiation of probe against the AAP. Meanwhile, AAP leader Yogendra Yadav asked the central government to initiate investigation into allegations.
