Navy Day celebrations kick start at Vizag

Vizag, Nov 11 (ANI): Kick starting the Navy Day celebrations, the Eastern naval Command organized Pratibimb- 2013, a painting competition for children from various schools in Vizag. Nearly 1,400 children from various government and private schools, including Kendriya Vidyalayas, across the city participated in the event which saw the naval community joining hands with the civilians. Rear Admiral AK Saxena lighted the lamp to mark the launch of 'Pratibimb-13'. A number of events are lined up leading to the Navy Day on December 4. The Eastern Naval Command has drawn up a string of events aimed at showcasing the 'Silent Service' and for raising awareness among citizens as part of the Navy Day-2013 events. Nov 11, 2013

The rebels swooped down on the village when the villagers where enjoying a cultural night. Villagers from the neighbouring villages were also present at the cultural event when the group of Maoists started firing indiscriminately. Hundreds of people lose their life in the violence, perpetrated by the rebels. The Maoist insurgents are estimated to number between 7000 hardcore fighters in nearly a third of India's 630 districts.
