Mohanlalganj victims family protests demanding CBI probe

Lucknow, July 23 (ANI): The family of Mohanlalganj victim protested in Lucknow on Wednesday demanding CBI probe in the woman’s brutal murder case. The woman was allegedly raped and murdered but the police denied rape in an autopsy report. The victim’s family members said that CBI investigation is required because the police’s probe in not trustworthy as they provided an autopsy report which showed the woman’s both kidneys, whereas, she had donated one of the kidneys to her husband. Basketball player on being forced to remove turbans during Basketball Asia Cup

MoU signed to boost up power capacity without additional fuel consumption in north-east

Agartala, July 23 (ANI): India’s North East Power Corporation (NEEPCO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd (TSECL) to upgrade three power projects in Tripura. Two power projects – Baramura gas thermal power project and Rukhia gas thermal power plant – will be converted into combined cycle in order to raise power capacity without increasing the fuel consumption. The other Dumbur hydro power project will undergo renovation to increase its power generation capacity. Chairman-cum-managing Director of NEEPCO, PC Pankaj, said this MoU will prove very beneficial as more power will be generated without increasing the tariff. The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Sarkar. The cost will be borne by both NEEPCO and TSECL. Jul 23, 2014

Shiv Sena MP clarifies Maharashtra Sadan incident

New Delhi, July 23 (ANI): Shiv Sena MP Rajan Vichare clarified the controversial incident that took place in Maharashtra Sadan on Wednesday morning. Vichare said that the leaders were unaware that the waiter was a Muslim and they just wanted him to know that the food was not edible. Sikh Indian players asked to remove turbans in China

New Delhi, July 23 (ANI): In a shocking incident during the Asian Basketball Championship in Wuhan, China last week, two Sikh players from the Indian Basketball team were asked to remove their turbans. The match officials informed the players that they were violating International Basketball federation rules and can't play with the turbans. Players Amrit Pal Singh and Amjyot Singh had to play the remainder of the tournament without their turbans.
