Uruguay's Luis Suarez loses appeal against biting ban by FIFA

Brazil, July 11 (ANI): Uruguay forward Luis Suarez lost his appeal against a nine-match ban from competitive internationals and a four-month suspension from all soccer activities for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini during a World Cup match, FIFA said. FIFA head of media, Delia Fischer confirmed that Suarez and the Uruguayan FA (AUF) had been informed of the decision. Fischer said that Suarez can still appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Legendary actress Zohra Sehgal dies at 102

New Delhi, July 11 (ANI): Legendary actress Zohra Sehgal, who essayed character roles with aplomb in a career spanning both theatre and cinema, died on Thursday at the age of 102. A Padma Vibhushan awardee, Sehgal breathed her last at Max hospital in Delhi around 4:30pm. Sehgal, unwell for last three-four days, died of cardiac arrest. The veteran actress would be cremated today at 11am at the Lodhi Road crematorium. The news came to light by historian Irfan Habib who tweeted, "Just confirmed that Zohra Aapa is no more..." Sehgal started her career as a dancer with Uday Shankar in 1935. Determined to bring down consumer inflation: Raghuram Rajan

Chennai, July 11 (ANI): Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Raghuram Rajan said that he was determined to ease consumer inflation through a combination of demand and supply management. An RBI panel in January recommended bringing consumer price index (CPI) inflation down to around eight percent by the end of January 2015 and to six percent by the end of the following year.
