Bangladesh foreign minister on visit to New Delhi invites Modi on behalf of PM Sheikh Hasina

New Delhi, Sept 20 (ANI): Bangladesh foreign minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, on a visit to New Delhi to attend the 3rd meeting of the India Bangladesh Joint Consultative Commission, invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of PM Sheikh Hasina as he recalled the historical, cultural and economic links between the two neighbouring nations. Ali also expressed the hope of further strengthening and deepening relations with India. Foreign Minister Ali extended an invitation on behalf of Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, to Modi to visit Bangladesh. Shiv Sena, BJP seat-sharing row: Deadlock continues

Mumbai, Sept 20 (ANI): President of Maharashtra unit of BJP, Devendra Fadnavis, ruled out breaking of alliance and said that the party has given proposal to Shiv Sena over seat sharing for the upcoming polls. As per the earlier reports, Shiv Sena had asked BJP to contest on 199 seats out of 288, if it wanted to continue the alliance. However, the BJP did not accept it, adding it will contest on all 288 seats and break the alliance with right-wing party. Congress criticizes Modi's stand on China incursion issue

Nagaland's taekwondo team makes India proud at an event in South Korea

Nagaland, Sep 20 (ANI): These youngsters from Nagaland have made India proud. In the recently held World Taekwon-do Hanmadang 2014 event in South Korea, the 20-member team has bagged several awards. The team from Faith-in-Action taekwondo academy emerged as the world champions in the Team Aerobic Competition and became the 1st team from India to win an international team event after 40 years. The team that represented India under the banner of Taekwondo board of India won gold in team event, 1 individual gold and silver medal each in Long Kick and 10 bronze medals. Classical dance festival entices audiences in eastern India

Bhubaneswar, Sept.19 (ANI): The latest edition of classical Odissi dance Ashtapadi festival kicked off in India's eastern Bhubaneswar city, pays an ode to Sanskrit poet Jayadev from the 12th century. The Ashtapadi festival was inaugurated by Odisha Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik. The fourth edition of the festival includes some of the best known names in Odissi genre. Prior to the dance festival, a book 'Sampoorna Geeta Govinda', authored by noted scholar of Odisha's cultural heritage and musician Dr Subas Pani was released by the Chief Minister. The performing arts festival features Odisha's classical dance Odissi dance performances and vocal recitals of all twenty four songs of Jayadeva's Geetagovinda. Dr.Subas was hopeful that the colourful festival will provide a complete aesthetic experience to the audiences. The festival has been mounted by Sri Geeta Govinda Pratishtana of Puducherry, which has been making its presence felt across the country over the last few years with elaborate dance events dedicated to the 12th century epic of Jayadeva.
