Labour MP Andy Burnham warns of old style establishment stitch-up over Orgreave

The MP for Leigh, and former Shadow Home Secretary, has called on the government to investigate the so-called Battle of Orgreave. More than 70 officers and 50 strikers were injured after clashes in July 1984, during the height of the UK miners strikes. Anthony Weiner sexting scandal: FBI to investigate Huma Abedin emails linked to Hillary Clinton private email server

The FBI have obtained a warrant needed to begin reviewing emails found on a laptop used by Hillary Clinton aid Huma Abedin. Metadata from a laptop, used by Huma and estranged husband Anthony Weiner, indicates emails were sent via Clintons private server. FBI director James Comeys letter announcing the new inquiry to Congress has caused political uproar. He has been criticised by Democrats, Republicans and the Justice Department. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid has even suggested that Comey may have broken The Hatch Act, a law preventing government officials from influencing elections. Oct 31, 2016

Tomasz Kroker jailed for killing woman and three children in car crash while using phone

A lorry driver who killed a woman and three children by ploughing into their stationary car while scrolling through music on his mobile phone has been jailed for 10 years. Tomasz Kroker, 30, smashed into the vehicle carrying Tracey Houghton, 45, her sons, Ethan Houghton, 13, and Josh Houghton, 11, and her stepdaughter, Aimee Goldsmith, 11, at 50mph on 10 August. Drone footage of Amatrice after Italy suffers worst earthquake in 36 years

Italy has been hit by another earthquake just four days after it suffered two quakes of 5.5 and 6.1 magnitude. The latest shock is said to be the strongest Italy has suffered in 36 years, and comes just months after 300 people were killed in a 6.2 magnitude quake back in August. Protest have erupted after 31-year-old fishmonger Mouhcine Fikri was crushed by a garbage truck while trying to retrieve produce that the police seized from him. Fikri was in possession on 500kg of swordfish which is protected at this time of year. Protesters joined his funeral march to show solidarity against police brutality. Oct 31, 2016
