Isle of Wight pub installs helipad to attract new customers

A couple who run a popular pub on the Isle of Wight have come up with a novel way of drumming up new customers – by installing their own helipad. Sam and Donna Shaw, who run The Fighting Cocks in Hale Common, created the helipad in a field close to their premises using a lawnmower in the hope that pilots flying over the island will land in for a tipple or two. Anti-nuclear protesters broke into a construction site for a nuclear reactor on 26 April, choosing the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster for their demonstration. Canada: Aerial footage captures burning railway bridge in Alberta

Canadian police have opened an investigation into the cause of a fire that destroyed a railway bridge near the Alberta town of Mayerthorpe on 26 April. CBC reported that the fire caused the Canadian National Railway wooden trestle bridge to collapse.
