PIL against Modi rejected by Supreme Court

New Delhi, Nov 22 (ANI): A Public interest litigation (PIL) that has accused Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi of filing incomplete details in his nomination papers for the 2012 assembly polls, has been dismissed by the Supreme Court. Chief Justice P. Sathasivam and Justice Ranjan Gogoi said it is a matter that lies within the jurisdiction of the chief election officer of the state. The PIL was filed by Sunil Sarawgi. He had sought the quashing of the election officer's decision not to reject Modi's nomination paper. Nov 22, 2013

New Delhi, Nov 22 (ANI): The editor-in-chief of Tehelka Magazine Tarun Tejpal faced flak from activists and politicians on Friday following allegations that he sexually assaulted a female colleague. Tarun Tejpal, founder of the award-winning weekly magazine Tehelka - known for exposing corruption and human rights issues - confessed in a leaked email that "a bad lapse of judgement" and "an awful reading of the situation" had led to an "unfortunate incident".
